Swedish Massage – you don’t have to go to Sweden to enjoy this relaxing treatment.
Looking to get rid of the tension in your shoulders? Want to just unwind and let go of the stress you’ve been carrying around with you? A traditional/Swedish massage could be just the thing for you.
I offer traditional – also known as Swedish – massage which focuses on smooth, flowing movements to relax the body. These massage movements help move waste materials from within the muscles, and also increase blood flow. This helps with tissue repair, to release tension, and increase feelings of relaxation. This deep sense of relaxation has led to many people enjoying such massages across the world, and for so long. This is the type most people think of when they imagine going to a spa for a massage. That’s why the terms ‘Swedish’ and ‘Traditional’ are interchangeable.
There are many other beneficial effects of Swedish massage too, which makes it useful for a wide range of people. Some other benefits include;
- Lowered blood pressure.
- Stress relief.
- Improved sleep.
- Increased flexibility.
- Improved mood.
- and many more!
How we make each treatment special
The treatment can be adapted to suit your needs too. Are you looking for a luxurious experience, where you can completely relax – sometimes to the point of sleep? A full-body massage could be just what you are looking for. Are your feet aching from being on them all day? Are your ankles swollen from not having chance to put them up and rest? A foot, ankle, and lower leg massage can soothe those aches and help to reduce swelling. How about long periods of time working on the computer or using tools? You could benefit from a hand and full arm massage to release tight muscles. If its your neck troubling you, then let us get those muscles loose with a back, neck & shoulder massage.
For each treatment, we will tailor the session to your needs. We also focus on areas of increased tension, ensuring the greatest benefit is provided with your precious time. If you have any specific areas not mentioned here, get in touch and we can arrange a bespoke treatment. These are individually priced, based upon the areas of focus and treatment length.
What we use during your massage
For all of our massages we use equipment specifically fit for purpose. Our massage tables are sturdy, adjustable, and comfortable so that you can fully relax and enjoy your treatment. We will use a selection of sheets, warm towels, and blankets throughout your session in order to keep you warm and comfortable. During your treatment, we will only expose the area we are currently working on, and these coverings will help to preserve your modesty throughout the session. Our service is highly professional, and we take the dignity of our clients extremely seriously. We generally ask that you remove any clothing which may prevent access to the area to be massaged, but we will never ask you to remove underwear or any clothing you did not feel comfortable removing. Whilst we would also ask you to remove jewellery, we can adapt our techniques to account for any piercings which you would be unable to remove. In those circumstances, please inform us during the consultation so that we are aware and do not accidentally cause any discomfort or injury during the treatment. The same applies for any medical devices which may be under the skin, such as contraceptives or pacemakers.
